Eligibility to Executive MBA

Executive MBA in India is being accepted in the every industry at higher rates in comparison to the traditional full-time MBA courses. Due to different requirements as specified by different institutes, working professionals try hard to figure out how they can check their eligibility to executive MBA admissions in India. Despite little variations, generally speaking, the eligibility to executive MBA courses in India requires:

Eligibility to Executive MBA 1. To have working experience in the industry. Every institute asks for varied number of years as experience while working; either at an executive or a managerial level. The number of experience years ranges anywhere between one year and ten years. Some colleges / institutes specifically demand it to be a post-qualification experience. Professionals having managerial work experience are generally preferred.

2. To have a graduate degree. A Bachelor’s degree in any subject from a recognized university or an educational institute (preferably from India) is mandatory. Although, some institutes demand to have either a post-graduate degree in any subject or an M.B.A. This depends upon the executive MBA course being undertaken. Some colleges / institutes set a minimum percentage of marks to be scored in order to be eligible for the EMBA courses in India.

3. To clear the entrance exam. Some reputed universities consider taking an entrance exam; in order to check the acumen level of the candidates; while some others prefer considering the GMAT scores (preferably taken within three months from the date of application.) There has been a comparative de-stressing of the GMAT scores in India these days. Once the application is considered, the applicant needs to clear the group discussion and qualify a personal interview.

4. To have sponsorships for the executive MBA: Some selected institutes invite applications only from or prefer company sponsored EMBA students; sponsorship can either be partial or complete. This completely depends upon the applicant’s and the organization’s mutual understanding. Exceptionally, in some selected cases, organizations sponsor the studies even if not required by the institutes.

5. To complete some additional requirements as well. Such additional requirements include having proficiency in English language (both verbal and written). Some reputed institutes specify minimum age requirements as well. Applicants need to complete minimum 27 years of age in order to apply for the executive MBA course.

Hence, any working professing having a graduate degree, some years working in the industry, cleared the admission criteria and proficiency in speaking and writing English, stands qualified for the eligibility to executive MBA courses in India.
