Executive MBA in IIMs

Indian Institute of Management also known as IIM is the most renowned and prestigious business school in India. The Indian Institutes of Management are ranked 68th amongst the top universities of the world. It is a dream for every MBA aspirant to get into IIMs. There are total six IIMs in India: IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Kolkata, IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode and IIM Lucknow

The concept of IIM was established in 1961 when IIM Ahmedabad began its tryst with quality education as an autonomous body. IIMs are a collaboration of central and state governments. Getting admission into IIM is not an easy deal especially for the full time MBA programmes. However, IIMs also offer executive MBA programmes.

IIM Ahmedabad offers a PGPX (Post Graduate Programme for Executives) which is residential one year full time course. One needs to get a good GMAT score for entering this programme. Minimum age limit is 27 years.

IIM Bangalore offers an Executive General Management programme for 7 to 8 months duration whose approximate fee is Rs. 2 lakh. Work experience needed for this course is 5 years and this is a non residential course. IIM B also offers advance level programmes in management that is for executives who have minimum ten years of work experience. Advanced Financial Risk Management Program is a specialized executive level programme which is offered by IIM B.

IIM Kolkata offers PGPX (Post Graduate Programme for Executives) for a year charging Rs. 8 Lakh with minimum 5 years experience. IIM Lucknow offers a Post Graduate MBA Programme (part time) which is a 3 years programme. IIM Indore offers Executive Post Graduate Programme (part time) which is an eighteen month course Minimum work experience needed is five years.

As more number of IIMs are coming up in the country, there will be more executive level programmes that will be introduced in the coming years.

My family is very poor.I can study only scholarship method. So how will collect the scholarship for MBA?
